Uniformity with God’s Will by St. Alphonsus de Liguori

A little on St. Alphonsus: After having rose to societal heights at a young age as a lawyer, he was humbled by God in a case. After which he left his profession and sought God’s Will for him in prayer. Twice, he was surrounded by a bright light and interiorly heard a voice telling him to “Leave the World and give thyself to Me.” He became a bishop, famous for his plain and simple sermons.

The Spiritual Reflections of St. Ignatius of Loyola

St. Ignatius, after being fairly worldly, was injured in a battle. While recovering, he discovered how pointless worldly pursuits were and began his conversion. He founded the Jesuits which produced many saints early on. This is a book of meditations he wrote to help people become holy, by understanding God, themselves, and the world better. It puts things in proper perspective so that we can follow God like we ought.
